  1. But there is no big possibility for such a thing, our politicians are aliens, they don't care about this country/planet so... Anyway,in every country there must be put pressure on recycling...
  2. The thing is that if all these actions taken by Bush were mostly due to pressure exercised on him,any other president will be much the same, whether he/she wants it or not...And this would be really bad..
  3. I know,I know...Never said we don't deserve it...But if we deserve the floods,we also deserve the drought, don't we? (Again out off topic, how do we do this?)
  4. Never mind, just take a break! Yeah, maybe if New York is in danger of the water levels people will get to understand some things...
  5. I think that both of them can change the situation,if other stupid powerful people don't stop them...Because neither Bush nor any other president makes decisions by him/herself...I think there were quite many people behind Bush who supported his actions..
  6. Totally right, that's what they should be doing...But unfortunately, they prefer to think only about their profits...
  7. Awww...I see... Thank you for the info,I downloaded the guide... -Use natural or bio-manure for your plants -Try to buy biological products, from meat and fruits to cosmetics. -When washing fruits and vegetables have a bowl under them so as to keep the water used.If you are sure that the fruits/veggies you washed had no pesticides, use the water you collected to water your plants.
  8. But Daim,if it rains a lot we wont have problem with the water supply, but with the floods! After this summer with all those fires in each and every area of greece, many rains will be catastrophic! Though drought will be a problem as well...so we need rain, but not a strong one...
  9. Hi Kruzzen, welcome to this really nice forum!!
  10. We have some ski slopes too,and they used to work every winter...But the one that passed it didn't snow at most of them,so many people were out of business...a really tiny tiny effect of climatechange,it's nothing in front of what awaits us in the future....
  11. I really hope you are right, humanity wont survive if an even worse president rules such a powerful country... There are very slim chances for such a thing, but they exist...
  12. I'd like an Apple too Simon...Now I have an LG,but honestly I have no idea whether LG is environmentally friendly or not,if anyone knows plz tell me... -Avoid buying anything for one use -Never leave the water flowing while brushing teeth/shaving/washing hands...A tap left open wastes 9 litres of water -Things we want to throw away but are in good condition(clothes, electric devices, magazines) ought to be given to charities/hospitals etc
  13. Simon you must be really tired or something ...It wasn't Daim you answered to, but me...lol..
  14. I have no idea of how the political stage is in America, but I think that whoever elected next, can't be worse than bush...Is there a chance for the opposite??Cos if yes,I'd rather kill myself
  15. Don't have to do anything, you just like it,the fact that you understand how pollutant it is and it has to change is really good by itself..
  16. Lol,hadn't heard about that...really?That's bad though,isn't it?Winter sports are really nice
  17. Apple is planning to become environmentally friendly in the future you know. -Low the temperature of the thermostat for just one degree=10% less energy needed... -Have the frigde 5cm from the wall, and clean all the back side pipes twice a year -There is no point of having the thermostat of the frigde below 7 degrees Calcium,it just consumes more energy -Print ONLY the articles/documents etc you really need to have printed.. -Always print both sides of the paper instead of using two papers -For a non-formal/important print use paper that is already partly used -If we have find public means of transport that are convinient to go to work,we let the whole staff know in order to use them.
  18. So when are the next votes? But whatever,if he wont be president for too long I can stand it...
  19. Whatever,we can be sure of one thing...sea level is rising dramatically fast...Daim,you said that now that New Orleans is in danger people will understand in what trouble we are into...I hope that's the case,I think most of them are sooo narrow minded, looking for their own profit...But some of them are getting to understand, that is something...
  20. I respect the fact that you like F1,though I find it really boring...
  21. They may actually make it,you never know...But I hope they are successful enough to drop pollution levels for a long time, not like us,after our Olympics pollution levels rose again... Hope they are active enough..
  22. I expect that the guys who will have to move will at least see what climate change can do to us...And that's nothing in front of what they are expecting for the next years....
  23. Hope you are right, though I doubt if they make it. Anyway,I think it would be more crucial to make them understand environmental matters, but this is also quite uncertain...Most of them are poor/illiterate etc,I dunno if they get it right...We will see the effects of the Olympics on them afterwards...
  24. Whatever it is that makes them look so appealing to some of us,it doesn't stop them from being high pollutant. Not only when the events of F1 are carried out,but also when the cars are made etc...every stage of F1 is pollutant, and must be changed
  25. Majority of the population is illiterate.I think the only thing most of them will understand will be the fact that suddenly many people out of work got a job for some years. As for democracy...Even if all of them understand how nice it is,they will still be unable to change their political stage
