  1. So it's just a newbie version of the Devil? Eh? Then we have nothing to worry about!
  2. A scientists can never say they are sure about anything. They can't say they are 100% sure that it's man-made, because then they cant call themselves scientists. But this doesn't mean that climate change might not be caused by humans. Gravity is a fine example of this. Scientists can only use phrases such as "very likely" and "extremely likely" that gravity is what it is. They can't say it's 100% true. But that doesn't mean we non-scientists should go around being sceptical about this. And I don't think this is the main reason why people don't care about climate change, or don't want to "believe" in it. It's because it is such a HUGE and complex doomsday crisis that its hard for people to even grasp or imagine what climate change means. Before the tsunami in South Asia no one could imagine how awful and devastating a tsunami could be. But now when we have experienced one we all know.. Unfortunately when the effects of climate change kicks in and people can actually see and feel the effects it will probably be too late to do anything about it. That is why its so hard to summon togheter people in the fight against global warming.
  3. A Wal-Mart. worker died early Friday after an "out-of-control" mob of frenzied shoppers smashed through the Long Island store's front doors and trampled him, police said. The Black Friday stampede plunged the Valley Stream outlet into chaos, knocking several employees to the ground and sending others scurrying atop vending machines to avoid the horde. When the madness ended, 34-year-old Jdimytai Damour was dead and four shoppers, including a woman eight months pregnant, were injured. http://www.nydailynews.com/ny_local/2008/1...mart_after.html That is just frakked up! :yuck:
  4. Well, the hell would froze over when the day comes and Europe (and the rest of the world) would rather prefer an Republican...
  5. I think what you guys are doing now is very dangerous, spreading sceptisicm around, making "ordinary" people confused about climate change. And this is part of why we haven't advanced further when it comes to the climate crisis and our reaction to it. There is way too much ignorant sceptisicm floating around outside of the scientific sphere, and that is not good! And of course, there is an overwhelming scientific consensus that climate change is man-made and that the main contributing factor is the burning of fossil fuels. That is pretty much basic climate science by now. And its not because of "natural cycles", or the sun. A scientific study has concluded that changes in the Sun's output cannot be causing modern-day climate change. It shows that for the last 20 years, the Sun's output has declined, yet temperatures on Earth have risen. It also shows that modern temperatures are not determined by the Sun's effect on cosmic rays, as has been claimed. Writing in the Royal Society's journal Proceedings A, the researchers say cosmic rays may have affected climate in the past, but not the present. http://www.pubs.royalsoc.ac.uk/index.... http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/na... http://www.theregister.co.uk/2007/07/... http://www.swissinfo.org/eng/front/de... http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment...
  6. Ah yes. Magenn's Power Turbine MARS looks really cool and would probably come real handy in Third World countries.
  7. Interesting. I did not know that. :)
  8. Because of the horrific Mumbai attacks, the Live Earth India concert scheduled for Dec 7 has been cancelled. Al Gore, one of the main Live Earth organizers, has issued the following joint statement with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and the group's founder: Friday, November 28, 2008 Everyone involved with Live Earth India, from our U.S.- and India-based staff, artists and crew to our India-based broadcast, production, non-profit and marketing communications partners, is stunned and saddened by the tragic events of the past few days in our host city Mumbai. We always felt very welcomed and safe as we spent more time on the ground in Mumbai to finalize plans for Live Earth India, scheduled for December 7. Due to circumstances far beyond our control, we are saddened to announce that Live Earth India has been cancelled. We will continue to work for solutions to the climate crisis for the good of the people of India and around the world. But for now, our thoughts and our prayers are with the victims of this terrible attack, with the bereaved, with the people of Mumbai and with everyone in India. For updated information, please visit www.LiveEarth.org. Information on getting refunds for tickets already purchased to Live Earth India will be available via liveearth.org.
  9. Meg ImHolt, intern at Greenpeace USA and a senior at American University and Vice President of the school's environmental club EcoSense, writes about GM running their "gas-friendly to gas-free" greenwashing campaign at her University. GM wanted to promote their new hybrid and fuel cell cars while getting the "green approval" from the school's EcoSense club. "As I write this, GM is feverishly lobbying Congress for $25B that it was supposed to get in exchange for fuel economy increases. The company wants the money now, but without the efficiency strings attached. Do a few hybrid and fuel cell cars compensate for such destructive policies? Do they make up for GM's opposition to stricter CAFE standards? Or the corporation's lawsuits against states for limiting car emissions? […] I didn’t take the bait, and neither did the rest of EcoSense. Citing GM's culture of corporate irresponsibility, we refused to endorse the auto makers latest greenwashing scheme. For GM, it seems that "green" is not a movement, but a marketing strategy. If GM wants to profit off a green economy, it needs a green business -- one that puts efficient cars in showrooms and endorses, rather than interferes with, greener standards." 10. So.. What is really the differance between the Antichrist and the Devil? Right on!
  11. Its looks cool - but I am not so sure it would be a hit. :sceptical: How well can they keep the cold? Does it taste OK to drink right from that dry paper-thingy?
  12. Ueeeeeeuh! :yuck:
  13. That is a local climate event and hasn't happened frequently yet. I thought you were a bit smart than believing in climate deniers bullshit. And Yes, the data show the planet STILL keeps warming and Killing the myth of the 1970s global cooling scientific consensus.
  14. Hi Dan! Welcome to the forum, hopefully you will have a great time here. If you got any questions don't hesitate to ask. You got two very nice blogs. Good luck with them! :)
  15. Ah, we dont have freaky stuff like that on our churches, remember, Sweden's main christianity is Lutheranism. Our churches mostly looks like this: ...or this ...well you get the point ;)
  16. Ah come on! The above picture is so clearly photoshopped! This one on the other hand...
  17. Its a nice site you have there. Good luck! :)
  18. I think it's great! Here in Sweden soem churches want to place solar panels on their roofs. But the Government says No because they think the solar panels would uglify the churches. ...and super markets, and car parks, and houses and buss stations and... The possibilities are endless! :cute:
  19. Now, what is really a forest? How big and how many trees etc does it hold? :thoughtful:
  20. Many captains of industry are quick to label those who spike trees, and firebomb suv’s as eco-terrorists. But break down that word eco-terrorist, it really means one who terrorizes the ecosystem. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out who are the real eco-terrorists. :cute:
  21. Ah yes, climate criminal Bush will defientiely go down in the history books as the worlds worst person, ever. But he is just doing what every other US President has done, like Reagan for example. The only difference is that he is doing this much better than they did. You know. Destroying life. :(
  22. And that is a good question. They dont do that back here in northern Europe. Is it only US of A that does this?
  23. "I guess that's why I fell in love with them." And then he kills them and eat them! ;)

    Left 4 Dead

Well I did buy the game over Steam anyways. Cause its green and its an easy way to buy games. I've played the game for a few hours now and its such a nice game. The co-op and gameplay is really nice. I've never experienced any other game with such a strong and good teamwork among the players.
  25. Religion is for morons. Enough said. :cute:
