New way to counter global warming "WTHR, the NBC affiliate for Indianapolis, reported from Beijing and described the NBC set used for the network's two highest rated news broadcasts, “NBC Nightly News†and “Today,†as air conditioned – even though it is outdoors. “The set is outside, but air conditioning vents make the weather bearable,†Anne Marie Tiernon This has to rank almost at the top of the "you have got to be kidding". Shows just how bad it really is in China.

The White House's Real Explanation for Global Warming
mountainhiker replied to Simon's topic in Climate Change
Only made sense in the mind of the dimwit that created the cartoon. Very bad taste! -
If they can pull this off then it puts a real dent in the EU, should have been in the race!

Solar power from Africa could power all of Europe

Sounds like a plan that could work but you know that there will be some econut that will object to it because they did not think of it. -
Now you have to add Obama to that list. He switches sides faster that a light bulb going off and on....

Why is climate change not in the USA primaries?
mountainhiker replied to mountainhiker's topic in Politics and Current Events
The democrats cannot impeach him because of things they voted for. And you have to realize that most of the things that they have accused him of, he is not guilty of. Never believe people whose job is to shovel BS out the door. There is not such thing as a "climate criminal". Nice "liberal" term, but has no real meaning! Also you noticed that Pelosi bailed out and all of the congress and senate left the building. They NEVER had any intention of following thru on the impeachment crap. impeachment has never been any thing more than a small pebble never tossed with enough force to break glass. That should tell you something..... When you consider that the people tossing the pebble all live in glass houses you can understand that there is a reason they never tossed anything that would really do any damage. -

Bush is not a criminal, you have to remember that the democrats voted for everything he did. Just because you disagree with someone does not make them a criminal. Now we have the democratic party refusing to address the oil prices at all. If the greens had a valid candidate they might be able to gain here but the screwed up. -
"green" being a relative term as is"left" in this country. The democratic party in this country is suffering from the far left looking down on those who thought they were on the left but not in 100% agreement with the far left. Now you have to be a "true believer".

All the ones that I have seen/played with, are on-line.

Simon, sorry to hear that you work for the government! Your experience with the buyer is pretty much standard. NOBODY wants to be the guy that makes a bad decision in government. Always safe doing the same thing that others are doing. Your problem is trying to apply common sense to government! I suspect there is some government rule against it!

Depends on which newspaper you are reading! Some play it down and others play it up! Since it is a political football, you have to be very careful assuming that all the "worst news" is really true. Wind farms were "good" until they started building them and now they are "bad" because the "right" people were not able to take political credit for them.... 99% of the time when you have people who are 100% to the left and others 100% to the right, the truth is someplace in the middle.... :sceptical:

However, since he has no track record of ever changing anything for the better, he is establishing a track record of saying what ever he thinks will get him votes based on the "day of the week". The longer he talks, the more cracks appear in the surface of the liberal "god of the moment". At this point people are starting to get concerned that there is not enough money to produce all the "wonders" that he has promised. :thoughtful:

Teamsters reject drilling in the Arctic Wildlife National Refuge

You have to realize that they don't stand to profit from it so, easy decision on his part..... -
I would say that you are pushing it big time!
-
And it this country the democrats are the far far left fascist party. what we need is someone closer to the middle. :thoughtful:
-
We have more than enough lawyers, be more than glad to share some with you!
-
He has NO experience. Being a god or doing any of the other things that he claims he is going to do. He is a great speaker, but in this world, hot air is only going to get him so far. He makes a lot of promises but he has not had any experience carry out promises. Big difference.
-
He is not running for president, he is running for "god" status. He is going to save the world, end all wars and feed all the hungry people. At your expense of course!

Only in your dreams, they have lawyers that sue you. Just because you disagree with what someone is doing, does not give you the right to break the law.
-
Well, excellent point Simon, if Hillary were running for our pres, she would do the same to/for us. obama may do the same if he is elected. The fact is he is running for pres in Germany has not gone over all that well though and last time I checked people in Germany cannot vote in US elections. :D

The indians will think this is funny until one gets caught by an owner who beats the crap out of them.

Eco snobbery happens. Don't let it happen to you! The warning signs: 1. Instead of giving out candy on Halloween you hand out compact fluorescent light bulbs. 2. You recently printed out 50 copies (on recycled paper) of the "worst cars for the environment" and your idea of a fun night was placing them under an offender’s windshield. 3. The last time you went to a friend’s house for dinner you made mental notes then on the way out, presented them with a list of ways they can better green their home. 4. You sneer at anyone with a Zappos box in their trash because their “Free Shipping Both Ways†platform surely encourages people to buy three sizes of the same shoe, then ship back the others. 5. You’re guilty of spending your spare time playing with a carbon footprint calculator. 6. When you babysat for your neighbor's 6-year-old you made her watch An Inconvenient Truth. 7. You've decided to postpone your New Year's party until 1-20-09. 8. The last time you were at a family picnic you washed all of the plastic flatware. 9. You've replaced local movie listings from your toolbar with Green Meet Ups - and added a 60 mile radius. 10. A new colleague sincerely thought your last name was Evangelist. If you’ve answered yes to more than three of the above, you’re sure to help save the earth, but you'll be doing it alone! from Eco Salon

As long as Al Gore's house sucks down the same power as 20 normal people the first step is for him to make a decision.

However, you have to keep in mind that many articles are negative because that "sells" in the news business. Many reports like that are really someones OPINION and not based on facts. I am amazed at the number of articles in the news where a reporter throws in their on opinion, as if it were news and therefore true. If you hear news like that from only one source, most likely it is not true.
