Video does not work on the PC I am mainly using - cost £9.99 (117.976 SEK) from eBay and has 128 RAM, and Flash 7 - I enjoy using such a low spec machine. I never get near the Core Duo, so have had a look on the iMac. I must be sad but on Vice City, the quarry truck was what I liked best + it did not have a radio! Our Lewis is of to China to work for a year. Shortly we will be going to Manchester airport, tonight he gets a flight from Manchester into terminal 5, and then one out to Hong Kong, before the local flight to Nanning. Fingers are crossed.

He walks at 45 degrees to compensate for the wind.

Mac greener than M/soft - would not doubt it. I would argue that anything which helped stop Microsoft having a monopoly of the IT world was green (I see green as more than just environmental). I would argue that any PC can be made greener, install Linux or FreeBSD. With respect to Nintendo, the Wii uses a fraction of the energy when playing intensive games, that that the PlayStation uses when in standby mode - but this is not included in Greenpeaces “green” calculation.

Last year we went to Gigha, a small island off the west coast of Kintyre, Scotland, for our holidays. http://www.gigha.org.uk/index.php If you want somewhere thats as near to paradise as you can get, Gigha is the place. However, even on a small island which feels remote from the world plastics rear there ugly presence. Near the top of the island aretwo beaches which are on either side of a piece of land connecting an “almost” island, see Twin Beaches pic below: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gigha The southern beach is on an ocean current and is continually deluged with plastic, bottles, pill blister packs, carrier bags, etc - the northern beach (and the rest of the island) is sheltered from the the current and has the most wonderful beach/s.

The picture confirmed what I though: a waste of resources, why not walk and get some exercise. I am not keen on the ranking system. I tend to think it encourages people to post pointless posts, just to gain some sort of "status" upon a forum. 700 postings of "VERY FUNNY LOL" do make someone a forum hero :sceptical:

Have stood in several elections and polled more votes than all the major parties (and a few minor ones), but never all in the same election Have found that even when not elected, the potential of losing votes to the Greens focuses politicians minds, and things improve. In the UK we have an Ecology Building Society, their Annual Review arrived in the post this morning. They are very small, but offer mortgages on properties others would not touch, energy efficient, old building conversions, straw bales, etc. http://www.ecology.co.uk

Is not the power of money much of the battle, be it politics, energy conservation, or trying to buy an ethical toothpaste?

Lets hope someone else gains the Green nomination, and she either gets on and supports them, or moves on.

If you look at Mid Beds Council websites list of councilors, you find that for practical reasons (UK councilors only get admin support if there is a group, i.e. 2 or more) the 1 green councillor is a member of the Independant group: http://committees.midbeds.gov.uk/mgMemb ... &PIC=0&J=1 So I can see some sense in working with a local party in New Orleans. I do not believe there is a right or wrong way to be politically green - but a willingness to look beyond what we have now, and being prepared to work towards it.
