Are the Mediterranean talks that the EU, led by France, currently undergoing the first steps towards large scale solar plants in northern Africa with focus of generating green and renewable electricity to Europe?

What do you think?

Well, You have to read the fine print

French President Nicolas Sarkozy has launched a new international body with 43 member nations aimed at ending conflict in the Middle East.

The Union for the Mediterranean will tackle issues such as regional unrest, immigration to pollution.

Its not the EU but the UM. And from what I have read other places large scale solar plants are a small part but not sure their target is Europe but the countries that border the Mediterranean.

If they can pull this off then it puts a real dent in the EU, should have been in the race!

This supergrid would mean energy security for all European countries. Then Europe doesn't have to do whatever it's "master" Russia with the oil and gas says...
