You mean Obama/Clinton/Clinton - will not get Hillary without Bill, and there is the real problem!

Hey! Don't talk sh*t about Billie! He is da man! ;)

By the way, who was it that said that the democrats have the biggest/easiest shot for the presidency in ages, but because they are democrats they will probably find a way to loose it. ??

A lot of democrats with experience! Its called "shooting yourself in the foot". The issue with not counting all of the Florida delegates is a classic example.

Al Gore endorses Barack Obama

This means we won’t see Al Gore run for the presidency this election. :(

Edit: I watched the live video and oh my gods Al Gore is such a better speaker than Obama..

And you know what? This thread has had over 14000 views. That is nice! ;)

You never know, he could be the VP, NOT. Hillary is warming up to Obama so we will have to see if he is willing to take on the Hill and Bill team. Obama may sell out yet but the party insiders are scared of her!

I dont think he wants to be VP. And why should Obama choose Hillary as VP? That just doesnt make any sense.

By the way, are you an democrat?

Nope, not registered with either party. But in this election, sure not going to vote for the least qualified candidate and the one that is going to solve ALL of the worlds problems by raising taxes...

HE BELONGED TO AN AFRO-CENTRIC CHURCH FOR OVER 20 YEARS THAT HATES JEWS, WHITES AND BLAMES AMERICA FOR ALL THE WORLDS PERCEIVED FAULTS.

HE COULD NOT CONFRONT HIS PASTOR BUT WANTS US TO BELIEVE HE CAN CONFRONT NORTH KOREA AND IRAN?

DURING HIS SHORT STAY IN CONGRESS, HE HAS MANAGED TO AMASS THE NUMBER ONE ULTRA LIBERAL VOTING RECORD OUT OF THE ONE HUNDRED MEMBERS. HE HAS ALSO VOTED FOR BIGGER GOVERNMENT AND HIGHER TAXES.

BUT HE IS A GOOD TALKER

FINAL POINT------

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, LET ME INTRODUCE YOU TO OUR NEW CHIEF PILOT FOR YOUR FLIGHT TODAY. HE HAS NEVER FLOWN AN AIRPLANE, NEVER SAT IN THE COCKPIT, BUT HE HAS RIDDEN ON PLANES BEFORE. WE ARE SURE HE WILL GUIDE US SAFELY THROUGH THE STORMS WE MAY ENCOUNTER ON THIS FLIGHT.

Why do you have to be registered with any of the parties to vote?

Well, it's not like any of your previous presidents have had presidential experience before being elected.

Also, you can't wage two wars at the same time, going into an depression and gods know what and not pay for it? The money the chinese are lending to you wont last forever.

And, no one can be worse than Bush.. Well maybe McBush can?

I just watched this video: Gene Boyer

He said that "You have no opportunity to participate in what is going on... it's not going to get any better until there is a third party."

Is it really that simple? Does America only need a third political party to be able to straighten things out?

Many are convinced that a valid third party is needed. Considering the current split in the democratic party, ultra liberals vs middle of the road liberals and you can see some need. Hillary is still a major force and her supporters are hacked off due votes being not counted and the fact that the "party elite" did not tap her as "queen Hillary". Obama HAS to get enough middle of the road votes to overcome this or he cannot get elected. He made the correct choice by swinging to the middle but the UL's are screaming sell out!

May really need a middle of the road party that can borrow from both the left and the right.

What about the greens?

Posted

The Greens pretty well shot them selves in the foot with the nut case they have running. No, a real third party has to have valid candidates. Not a nut of the moment program.

Well, isn't it true that everyone thinks anyone who is running for the green is a "nut case"?

It's the same here in Sweden. A couple of years ago the greens here was the smallest party. Everyone called them crazy and treehuggers and that such a small party shouldnt be allowed to decide anything.

But now the greens are the third biggest party and they are still growing. They are respected and seems to be the only ones that holds their values and ideas. Sure people still think of them as crazy and treehuggers.. But still.. ;)

Crazy maybe, but not treehuggers by default. They have had some leaders that were not too far off the line but this lady they endorsed is a true basket case. She is totally self centered and makes no attempt to resolve the issues of the day but instead comes up with new issues that create more problems.

Most voters are not looking for a candidate to make things worse!!! :thoughtful:

A little comparison between US and European politics is that when a political party @!$%# up in the USA the voters blame it on the President, the leader of the party.

If the same thing would happen in Europe the voters would blame the political party (and not just the leader, President) and vote for the opposition, just to set an example to the leading party that they do not tolerate their crap anymore and that they wont vote for that party again until they change this and that.

Don't be fooled. All Presidents will be the same, they will follow their political agenda set up by their political party and they will continue to follow their ideals and ideas as long as the voters continue to punish the leader instead of the political party.

If you choose not to punish the Republican party for these 8 years of total stupidity you will get the same @!$%# over and over again. Nothing will change until you punish the party.

Now the republicans can blame their failed political agenda on one single person or administration. Now they can say everything will be better if you just choose this other guy from our party. It won't. The new guy will be as bad as the other because he comes from the same old party and shares the same values and ideas as the old guy did.

If you don’t want to vote for the Democrats (or if you don’t want to vote for the Republicans) then why not cast your vote for a third party, the Greens? That way your vote will come to use and help set an example to the old parties that it is time to shake up and start listening to you, the people. If the old party starts to change and goes in the right direction you can vote for them again in the next election.

The old and rotten politicians can do whatever they want because they know you will continue to vote on the same party you always had, no matter what @!$%# they throw at you. So, if you want to set an example against criminal politicians, like the war and climate criminal Bush, you must punish the political party that is behind the leader. Otherwise nothing will change.

Crazy maybe, but not treehuggers by default. They have had some leaders that were not too far off the line but this lady they endorsed is a true basket case. Bush is not a criminal, you have to remember that the democrats voted for everything he did. Just because you disagree with someone does not make them a criminal. Now we have the democratic party refusing to address the oil prices at all. If the greens had a valid candidate they might be able to gain here but the screwed up.

Of course he is a war and climate criminal, with fellow helpers.

If the western world had some standards and morals he would have been impeached years ago and put to trail in the Geneve court.

The democrats cannot impeach him because of things they voted for. And you have to realize that most of the things that they have accused him of, he is not guilty of. Never believe people whose job is to shovel BS out the door. There is not such thing as a "climate criminal". Nice "liberal" term, but has no real meaning!

Also you noticed that Pelosi bailed out and all of the congress and senate left the building. They NEVER had any intention of following thru on the impeachment crap. impeachment has never been any thing more than a small pebble never tossed with enough force to break glass. That should tell you something..... When you consider that the people tossing the pebble all live in glass houses you can understand that there is a reason they never tossed anything that would really do any damage.

So.. Obama choosed Joe Biden as his runningmate and vice president.. I dont know much about Biden so Im just gonna ask what do you think about him?

He brings experience and a knowledge of politics that Obama does not have. Biden has served for the sixth-longest period among current senators (fourth among Democrats) and is Delaware's longest-serving senator. He is the chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee. A lawyer, and has two son's who are lawyers also. The two major things he brings to the plate, knowledge of foreign relations and experience in Washington. He is a heavy weight trying to balance out the light weight Obama. A real question being asked, can he bring back the Clinton votes that are still upset. He is a better choice for VP than Hillary although many will disagree!

Thank you for that summary! Yes, I also believe he is a better option than Hillary.. It would just look weird and weak if Obama choose Hillary, especially after that nasty primary..

EDIT: And he also seems to be "green enough"...

I agree, but clearly Obama is not running a green ticket. The did suddenly allow the full participation of the Florida and Mich. delegates but it has not smoothed over the anger that the Hillary people still feel. Clearly choosing Hillary might have gained some votes in the party, his problem is that to get elected, he must have votes outside the party and that was where Hillary was a liability. Did he make the right choice, who knows... :thoughtful:

He has to define himself as something other than "I am going to raise your taxes".

Well, he is going to cut taxes for 95% of the people.

But lets focus a bit on John McBush's disastrous choice for running mate and Vice President. :sceptical:

John McBush has chosen Sarah Palin, an inappropriate, incompetent, religious fundamentalistic climate change denyer as his running mate. Heck, she doesn't even have a clue what a Vice President does!

She was the former mayor of a town of 9,000 for almost 2 years. She has NO foreign policy experience. She is married with an oil man. She hates polar bears and she denyes man-made global warming. And she want's to teach creationism in public schools. She want to drill in ANWR. She is in the centre of the "TrooperGate" scandal in Alaska. Oh and did I mention she was stupid?

Sarah Palin must be a frakkin joke, right? Tell me she is a joke, please. Because having her one heartbeat away from the presidency is really frakkin scary! :o

Apparently no.

I think the idea of John McC was to catch the votes of the women that would vote for Hilary, but choosing S. Palin for the job was the worst idea he could haver had, instead of wining votes we will lose even more

Nope. you miss the point that she IS attracting voters. More voters can relate to her than they can Obama's choice. She has accomplished more than Obama has. And the more people that attack her, the worse it will be for Obama.

I don't know really..

See below for photo of Wasilla City Hall-- where she reigned less than two years ago.

And the only national security and foreign experience Sarah Palin has seems to be that Alaska is close to Russia...

Ohh and the scandals just keep popping up:

Seems that Palin honed this skill back as Mayor of Wasilla, where she was nearly recalled, for firing the Police Chief and Library Director for not supporting her in her 1996 race for Mayor.

Yes, that's right. Hack n' Sack Sarah didn't even try to hide it. She didn't say the Police Chief and Library Director were doing a bad job. No, she fired them for "not fully supporting her efforts to govern" (i.e., not endorsing her for Mayor).
