Energy revolution = money saved

Energy revolution = money saved

US$180 billion. Per year. That\\\'s the massive amount of money the world could save by moving to a renewable energy future. The Future Investment report demonstrates that a safe renewable energy future would not only cut our global CO2 emissions from the electricity sector in half by 2030, it would also cost 10 times less than a ‘business as usual’ fossil-fuel future would.

By shifting global investments to renewable energy (including solar, wind, hydro, geothermal and bio energy), within the next 23 years, and away from dirty and dangerous coal and nuclear power, we can save a massive US$180 billion a year.

So we face a simple but crucial choice: we can either invest in over 10,000 new polluting coal and gas power plants, which would double fuel costs and increase C02 emissions by more than 50 percent. Or we can choose a safe renewable energy future, producing 70 percent of the world’s electricity from our planet’s natural resources.

By doing this we would not only save money but also cut CO2 emissions from the electricity sector in half by 2030.

Renewable energy is the only way we can save the earth. We have the technology we need. We know what we need to do. Now we just need to put pressure on our politicians and demand that they support renewable energy and do whatever they can to fight global warming. Otherwise you and others won\\\'t vote for them.

You are in control so don\\\'t forget to use that power next time your vote or talk with a politician.

In my country, we've taken some steps forward. more than 2billion euros where given for trash buckets which their new use is renewable trash!!! A big warehouse-factory is waiting every day for these trash so it can make useful these trash again. It's a big step for greece and I have to say congratulations to our politics. They finaly did something right.icon_razz.gif

There are other ways to save the earth! One is the the wind! wind mills could save big amount of power!!! sun power is also a useful solution, water power too!!! there are many ways to save the planet, it just needs to take the desicion!!!

Agree, but we need to use these energy resources carefully. Hydraulic energy can be ussefull to the planet and at the same time bad for it because the constrution of dams can cause many damages to the enviroment

Also note that when the planet gets warmer less water will come to the dams. That means that countries who rely on dams to genereate energy will loose energy in the future (50 years).
