International Green Summit, Inc. is currently putting together The International Green Summit 2009. The mission, or goal, of IGS is to educate the world on what green products are, or will be, readily available for consumers to purchase. We have numerous different platforms that we will be using to reach the maximum of the world’s population as humanly possible. We will have web casting, websites, cable companies, and satellites companies airing it for free, to access the world’s population.

The primary objective of the International Green Summit (IGS) is to increase consumer awareness of the products that are there for everyday uses and future products. This event will be the cornerstone to build a more aware and intelligent consumer in the market place of green products. To date, most people want to be green, but it is either too expensive or not readily accessible. After this event, with the increase of knowledge of the products that are out there, consumer demand will increase and producing bulk manufacturing will lower the costs of such products. People generally want to do what is best for the common good, and after this is all said and done they will have the knowledge and ability to afford such products.

Can you tell a little bit more about the summit? Where & when will it be?

& for example which companies, products & communities will be present?

EU-wide, worldwide or more local..?

(I looked at your blog & it still didn't seem quite clear..?)

Aha, your main site seems to offer more info:

http://www.igsonline2009.com/Our_Partners.html - Does anyone know any of these?

Some of the sites look interesting...

Since this is a truly International event and we are looking for companies from Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, South & North America to participate.

So we have chosen a central location:

Portugal

Later in 2009

When approximately is 'later in 2009'? (autumn or earlier?)

And are you mostly targeting companies to take part or also green-aware customers & general public?

The International Green Summit will be open to the public the last day with only a donation of 1 €.

Can green-aware consumers or activists also participate on the conference itself or just the last day, together with the rest of the public? (& if so, what are the costs or is it free?)

Is a final location (city) decided upon too?

The summit will be held in Moura, Portugal on the dates of November 9-14. The goal of IGS is to bring together companies, inventors, scientists, and entrepreneurs to showcase the products and technology that are introduced and developed today to better tomorrow. Speakers will be allotted presentation time to deliver their keynote presentation. IGS is seeking charismatic and forward thinking speakers that are more likely to deliver a keynote that will leave an impact on the target audience. IGS will be seeking speaking engagements from the leaders in the environmental issues sectors including but not limited to notable names like Al Gore, T. Boone Pickens, and others. Their presence will depend on their prior engagement schedules.

Sponsors will have the opportunity to choose their speakers since they are best to determine the branding of their products. IGS will be available for consultation sessions, suggestions, interviewing speakers (if needed), pre-summit rehearsals, and brainstorm sessions to help sponsors have an effective impact on their audience.

& for example which companies, products & communities will be present?

EU-wide, worldwide or more local..?Across the board we are trying to bring in any company who is willing to participate. Since it is an international event we are looking for all different types of international green companies. As for the products we are going to try to cover any and all different types of green products

(I looked at your blog & it still didn't seem quite clear..?)We have alot of websites to attend to but we are trying to catch up on all of them. Sorry for the lack of information

Thank you for the information!

It definitely sounds like an interesting event!

So if I understand you right, both students & other members of public can attend all days & all parts of the event? (students for free, others for donation of 1 Euro?)

Great interview! I recommend everyone who's interested to listen to it!

I'm also wondering, is this the 1st such worldwide event?

Also, will there be online support with info & people & scientists & companies there?

I totally agree that it needs to be easier for the average person (& community!!) to go green - as so many fantastic things are happening worldwide already, & often even local authorities are impressed with ideas of what is happening abroad or in another municipality!!

will send you my email address...
