FreshBrain.org is an online center where high school students can experiment with technology and participate in projects/activities using open-source software. FreshBrain is focused on enhancing the education and development of our youth by providing hands-on real world experience. FreshBrain is segmented into technology areas to provide easier access to the correct type of projects and activities. One of the sections that should prove interesting is the Eco/Green area. This area will provide students a great opportunity to understand and combat the ecological issues that the world is facing today. This summer FreshBrain is hosting a massive series of contests and activities called “Summer Splashâ€. The Summer Splash contests will provide an easy means of getting into FreshBrain for first time users, especially because there are great prizes offered to the winners of contests. What's so environment centered about this? Some of the contests, such as the Gas Prices are Rising, Create a Video showing Unique Ways of Getting Around - Project Contest, will encourage participants to consider ways to help the environment. In the case of the Getting Around Video, a prize is being awarded to the individual or team that creates the best video to tell about alternative modes of transportation in order to save gas, and thereby the environment.

The thing that makes FreshBrain special in the education industry is that it provides the students with access to free access to tools and a personal advisor for each team. The advisor will help them to be successful by providing necessary guidance. The advisors will be trained on the FreshBrain processes and tools and will have a wealth of support behind them. The advisors will also be carefully screened in order to insure the safety of the students. This is a first for an online educational service, and makes FreshBrain an extremely attractive option for interested students.
