Barack Obama wins the US presidency for a second term

I genuinely believe that Obama is worried about the climate crisis. And that he is well aware of the planetary risks and dangers that climate change brings. But unfortunately, I am not so sure that Obama is willing to risk political capital on pushing for meaningful actions against global warming. He still has many other battles to fight, both back at home and on the international scene, which will keep him busy. We also have, just like the previous four years, a US House filled with conservative Republicans that most likely will continue to try to obstruct any and all efforts from Obama to make progress on climate policies and renewable energy. I’ve said numerous times before the election that the climate will lose regardless of which one of the two main candidates that win. So I believe that Obama’s victory will continue to mean more business as usual. But, I have no problem with being proven wrong.
