  2. Like I said in another topic in this forum: I am moving to a new house soon which has a big garden. Or rather it has a big boring lawn. For the next summer I want a garden full of flowers that will attract bees and keep them safe. So which plants and flowers will attract bees the best?
  3. I am moving to a new house soon with a big garden. So I was just wondering how I can make my new garden as green and eco-friendly as possible? For the moment it only has a two trees, some bushes and large areas of grass. But I want flowers, some nice bushes and maybe even a little pond.
  4. See, we dont need Nuclear! Its possible to Power all of Europe with renewable energy.
  5. Its not just rising sea levels that pose a threat to Nuclear plants. The heat is also a problem for nukes, especially now during the summer. And it will only get worse with global warming!
  6. This video is quite good! Sure the installation costs of wind power might be high, but once they are up and running wind power will save us money. Australia's Renewable Energy Target Explained The renewable energy target is hard to understand for many consumers, so we made this video to make it easier and explain how it can make a positive impact on your household bills.
  7. Its always good to be skeptical of Corporations that claim that they are green!
  8. Higher sea levels is a serious threat to nuclear power plants: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/05/19/maps-rising-seas-storms-threaten-flood-coastal-nuclear-power-plants_n_5233306.html During Superstorm Sandy, for example, flooding threatened the water intake systems at the Oyster Creek and Salem nuclear power plants in New Jersey. As a safety precaution, both plants were powered down. But even when a plant is not operating, the spent fuel stored on-site, typically uranium, will continue to emit heat and must be cooled using equipment that relies on the plant's own power. Flooding can caus
  9. The EPA has been under-counting how much methane, which is 20-40 times more powerful a greenhouse gas than CO2, fracking emits at drilling sites, new research shows. "The study, published Monday in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, adds to a growing body of research that suggests the EPA is gravely underestimating methane emissions from oil and gas operations." http://www.latimes.com/science/sciencenow/la-sci-sn-methane-emissions-natural-gas-fracking-20140414,0,2417418.story
  10. And I love the new energy forums!
  11. Sad news indeed. Japan should instead focus on energy efficiency and ramping up their renewable power capacity. Didn't Greenpeace last year show how Japan could replace their entire nuclear fleet with renewables, efficiency and smart management?
  12. New website looks good. Reminds me a little of old greenblog.
  13. Nice to see the progress Google, Apple and Facebook has made!
  14. I think we have all seen this amazing photo... and here is the true story behind it! When this photograph was first published in Africa Geographic, BBC Wildlife and later in Paris Match and the Daily Mail (London) it resulted in a flurry of e-mails, phone calls and letters from around the world asking if the image was a fake. The image became the most talked about of shark photograph ever. The photograph is real, no photoshop, no digital manipulation, no nothing, in fact it was shot on slide film Fuji Provia 100 using a Nikon F5 Camera and 17-35 mm lens. For those conspiracy fans wh
  15. Gas is not green! This whole post sounds like corporate propaganda... :[

  17. When will the FrontPage be fixed? It still looks bad on my phone... :/
  18. Do you know how widespread the use of solar fuels and artificial photosynthesis is today? Is it a viable alternative or just fancy talk? ;)
  19. Why choose the lesser of two evils when there are better alternatives!?
