Solar power will take over soon

The surface of the Earth receives an amount of solar energy equivalent to roughly 10 000 times the worlds energy demand. Of course there isn't always sunlight, but the solar panels can store the energy, and they are getting better and better at it. A solar panel converts one sixth of the sunlight into electrical energy. Although they also are getting able to turn more and more of the sunlight into energy, they are already so efficient that space isn't much of an issue anymore. The area of solar cells needed to supply a family with electricity is usually much smaller than the roof of their house. And when including the land required for mining and excavation of coal, CPS-plants (power-plants that rely on solar energy) are more space-efficient than power-plants fueled by coal. Solar power is roughly fifty times as space-efficient as growing crops for bio fuels. And that's just with the technology that currently is commercialized.

The clip bellow shows the best parts of the documentary Here comes the sun and is well worth taking a look at:

Solar power is the way to go. Using natural energy is much more cost effective than using electricity. Work out what your electricity bill costs you per month, and see what you can save.

This is really interesting, i didn't know that it takes less than the space of a roof to power a home! i always presumed it would take much more than that!

The technology is definitely moving on! Hopefully more and more people will take it up.

Solar Power is definitely set for a bright future. In the UK, the Government will introduce a brand new Feed in Tariff Scheme from 1st April.

Income from the scheme will be known as Clean Energy Cashback and will be tax free and last 25 years, long after the price of the panels has been paid back!!

Thank for this great post!

The trend is solar power. Really, the past year there has happened so much in this field that it seems like a technological revolution is on the way. I read the MIT blog technologyreviews.com and they post new advances in the field every other day.

People really need to choose green webhosts, sice studies have shown that by the year 2020 that the web hosting industry will be as big of a polluter as the airline industry

The world is filled with those who have high energy demands. Its high that these people learn about energy crisis and green energy solutions. This post does just that as far as the use of Solar energy goes. As the panels get better, the world will surely become greener! :)

Fern Jaipur, as an Ecotel Hotel tries to minimize energy consumption with maximum efforts. Our policies do certainly endorse the green way of life and travel. This post brings some light to what we can do in the future to get even greener with all that roof space we can afford :)

Solar power is the way to go. With options becoming more affordable, and incentives such as the Net Metering Law in Hawaii, more and more people are turning to solar power. Especially with the BP events on April 20th, 2010, the benefits of switching to alternative energy methods are being felt on all levels. Check out http://www.sunetric.com/_blog to see how you can switch over to solar power for a greener future.

Could it be possible to set up solar panel on roofs of houses in the future? But I think that would come costly, given the materials that will be used to do it, even if the end goal of this purpose is to save money shifting from electrical to solar energy usage. But if the government would make it possible to be widely used in the future, I would gladly ask the roofing contractor Calgary in our place in Canada to set it up for my home.

The high demand for energy which has caused problems worldwide is primarily attributed to the fast growing number of people around the world. Some of us have done our part to solve this dilemma through conserving electricity and cutting down on fuel consumption which in reality is some of life’s little sacrifices. But another win-win solution to this problem has been found through man’s ingenuity through the use of solar energy.

It's so amazing that we can use the sun's heat as a source of energy. Since the demand of electric energy is getting high, we should really find another alternatives. Some states use natural resources as a source of energy like the Stream Energy in Texas. Good thing for this kind of natural gas that it is cheaper than coal. So the Texas' consumer has option to choose to which business electricity suppliers is cheaper.

I used to check this site www.chooseenergy.com/education-center-dallas-el... last Saturday. I found many business electricity suppliers. If you are living at Texas, this is the site where you can find cheaper suppliers.

With solar getting cheaper, it's likely we will see some subtle retaliation by large oil companies. Perhaps even large scale suppression if they can.

Personally, I am excited to see the prices come down and can't wait to see what the next few years will bring.

Although solar panel will get cheaper in the future as more environment cautious group encouraging its use; the current commercial solar panel is still expensive. However there are DIY guides available that teaches one how to build his own panel at home at a fraction of the cost of commercial panels. Read those guide to find out how you can start your own solar energy home at a more affordable level.
