WebCtel

WebCtel was founded in 2000, in New England and is the only solar powered web hosting services provider of that area. WebCTel provides website design, maintenance and support, application development, productivity tools and consulting.

WebCTel is headquartered in the Greenworks Building in East Cambridge, site of a former rubber manufacturing facility. The contaminated building has been reclaimed and now provides office space to businesses and non-profit organizations that place an emphasis on environmental protection and implementing social change.

WebCtel uses solar energy to power-up the offices and servers. The solar panels are constituted by small photovoltaic cells made of thin layers of silicon and other conductive materials. When in direct contact with sunlight occur a chemical reaction similar with photosynthesis in plants and then stored in their battery storage bank or directly use.

This Web host is also involved in several community activities: sponsoring volunteer events, donating 2% of their annual profits to community groups and non-profit organizations and inviting school groups and others to visit their facility and learn more about alternative energies.

Through our community outreach efforts, we're helping to build the backbone of a thriving society.

Besides the all the benefits to environment and to the community WebCtel provides a variety of services in order to serve different clients. Among those services we can find the CMS (Compliance Management System); the SOPs (Standard Online Permitting Solutions) and the SDVMA (Supplier Diversity Vendor Management Application).
