Recycling Plastic Bottles

I saw a commercial today on Planet Green for an eco-bottle. The commercial gave a few reasons why you shouldn't buy plastic bottles including the hazards of recycling them. They mentioned the hazard of recycling plastic bottles is the pollution emitted into the atmosphere from the recycling process. Does anyone know if this is true or just a bunch of bunk to sell their bottle?

It might hold some truth to it. But to me it sounds like they are overreacting to be able to sell some more bottles.

Yeah, but if it causes pollution, doesn't it also defeat the purpose? We're trying to prevent pollution and landfill waste by recycling. I think it's a bunch of bunk to sell their bottle.
