The World's Hardest-Working Countries

Recommended Posts

By the time he gets home, it's just a matter of jumping in the shower and collapsing into bed, before starting the whole routine all over again, about four hours later. This happens six days a week, and throughout almost all of the year, as Lee gets just three days of vacation.

That's right. Three days.

Now compare those 3 days to the 25 days of vacations plus a bunch of national holidays plus some less important holidays in some cities of the Portuguese worker. Isn't our country the best?!

In this case "hardest-working" is not a good goal to "work" toward. Here in the US, many have 25 days of vacation plus national holidays also. Some countries force people to take vacation, not a bad idea really since it forces management to realize what people are worth.

But do you have bridges? We call bridges to those extended weekends when we have a holiday on Thursday or Tuesday and you don't need to go to work on Friday or Monday...
