Why is climate change not in the USA primaries?

I don't know really..

See below for photo of Wasilla City Hall-- where she reigned less than two years ago.

And the only national security and foreign experience Sarah Palin has seems to be that Alaska is close to Russia...

Ohh and the scandals just keep popping up:

Source: Palin Almost Recalled As Mayor

The personal attacks on her are having an opposite effect than desired, she is gaining support. Obama does not have as much experience as she does. Instead of personnel attacks maybe it is time to consider the crap that Obama is saying he is going to accomplish, like hiring an "army of teacher". Obama has "over promised" on things that would require massive spending while he is saying 95% will get a tax cut. When pigs fly!

As the GOP struggles to maintain some vestige of the "experience" argument in the wake of Sarah Palin being named as John McCain's running mate, much has been made of Palin's executive experience as Governor of Alaska and Mayor of the town of Wasilla. Of course, if all executive jobs are equal to each other and greater than all non-executive government jobs, Palin has more experience than everyone else on both tickets. That John McCain, Palin's "executive" inferior, remains at the top of the ticket is sufficient to pooh-pooh that whole line of reasoning. But, as it happens, Laura McGann of the Washington Independent has gone out to Alaska, to do the sort of vetting work that one would have thought the McCain campaign might have done. (One would have been wrong, of course.) And, as it turns out, not even Sarah Palin thinks all that much of her executive experience. Here's McGann, digging through the archives at the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman:

I'm reading an article from October, 1996, in which a reporter named Laura Mitchell Harris asks Palin about her intentions for a shake up. How would she effectively run a city without experienced leaders?
"It's not rocket science," Palin said, "It's $6 million and 53 employees."

12 year old bull shit is still bull shit. The attacks on her by the media are reporters trying to control the election and not focus on the issues at hand. They are trying to direct attention away from the fact that Obama is a hollow drum with no real experience and great pronouncements of what he will accomplish, spending billions of new money while he lowers taxes.

While many tax loopholes do need to be closed (not what he is talking about) that would make a huge difference in what the government gets, his anti business mindset would accomplish the same results that has gotten the state of California in trouble (16 billion in debt).

No matter what, the simple fact is that, if you want to vote "green" and ending George Bush’s eight years of failed economic and environmental policies John McCain, Sarah Palin nor the Republican Party should be an option for you.

The real change will come with McCain and Palin and not the smoke an mirrors of Obama. Tax increases, the foundation of the Dems, is not what will cause a recovery to happen.

massive tax increases that they are talking about are not real funny! Suspect that you will see obama refine some of his plans as we get closer to the election. Many are seeing this as a close election. If so the people who decide it may the be ones "in the middle" and they will not make a decision based on the color of anyones skin, just, whats in it for them. Higher taxes is a negative in the US.

Did you know that there are some politcial parties here in Sweden that goes to election promising higher taxes? :)

Maybe he will raise taxes. Who knows how bad the US economy really is after 8 years of FAILED REPUBLICAN RULING.

Not really, but for sure the democrats are masters as screwing over the people. The always want to raise taxes but then spend it on things that don't help the people and are not what they promised during the elections. 4 years of FAILED DEMOCRATIC leading will not help either.

Old, rotten politicians always put their own interests first. That is why Obama is such a fresh air. Sure, Clinton is more experienced than Obama, but she misses that "fresh air" that Obama has.

But the fact remains that during democratic ruling USA has been better off. What is it that says that THIS TIME the republicans will change and do good for USA for once? NOTHING.

There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern as the republican party. A virus. The republican politicians are a disease, a cancer of this planet, a plague... ;)

If you watch the full episode of the daily show: http://www.thedailyshow.com/full-episodes/...pisodeId=184108

And 7 mins into the show they compare John Mccain's speech with George Bush's speech.. That pretty much says it all on how much "change" John McBush will bring to Washington and USA.. :info:

You're absolutely right.

McCain promises to try every possible means of alternate energy but notice the major focus on drilling for oil. He started with it and finished with it, even rousing that despicable "drill baby drill" chant... makes them look and sound like oil addicted puppets of big oil.

Apparently Republicans are not environmentalist if they believe that you can reasonably replaces all foreign oil sources with domestic ones while making any reasonable advancement in other green or clean energies. After stuffing the pockets of their oil cronies there will be no more funds remaining to do any R&D or implementation of renewable energies and hence the money will be spent, just not on stimulating jobs or the economy. The Democrats are right, this policy is no different from the old Bush platform and where has it gotten us?

Americans who care anything about the environment or future generations must vote for Obama who promises to focus energy spending on renewable and clean sources such as solar and wind. With the recent promising discoveries in renewable energies, especially solar power which is the only real clean and green form of energy, this kind of focus will yield true results, create tons of jobs and stimulate the economy.

 The Republicans seem blind to the fact that, yes, we use oil for many things but in almost all cases where oil is used to produce energy, including car and truck and other types of engines which make up 80-90% of most people's concern for available oil, alternate energies can be used effectively. In other words, why drill for more oil if we won't need it when it finally arrives?

The Democrats are totally blind to the fact that, yes we use oil for many things but fail to understand that we need the oil in the mean time until we can come up with the alternatives.

We already have the alternatives and we already have the technology that is needed.

Why waste more money and time on drilling for something that we won't have any use of until 10-20 years from now? It makes no sense!

Let's use the current "high" gas and energy prices in USA and start invest in green reneable energy.

We already investing in green renewable energy, just not enough but you for sure cannot use "high" gas prices to pay for it. And drilling now will generate a return in far less than 10 years, try 2-3 years.

I dont mean that the "high" gas prices in USA will pay for it. I mean it's a good reason to invest in renewable and green energy.

2-3 years!? If something here is a fairytale that is!

Drilling now will bring prices down just because of the threat of increased oil. Of course it is not "the" answer but is is a fairytale to think the you can switch to something else in the next 90 days.

So what you mean is that just the notion of the companies being allowed to drill for more oil everywhere in the USA will lower the price? That might hold some truth. But not much. Sorry, but your 2-3 years still makes no sense.

You say that the gas and energy prices will go down just because of "positive sayings" for more drilling in USA. That would mean that the prices would go down asap, and not 2-3 years after the actual "positive sayings" and decision.

It takes up to ten years and billions of dollars to get a new field into productions. If any effect were to be felt on gas prices (most likely only a few pennies per gallon), that effect is decades away. Another reason that drilling for more oil in the U.S. won't result in lower gas prices is because oil prices are set on the global oil market.

If the "Drill, Drill" slogan wins support it will be a fatal blow to everything from democracy, energy independence to huge environmental and climate risks for USA, as well as for the world.

Drilling for more oil will just put the needed investments into renewable and alternative energy souces on hold. It will takes several years to transform our oil and fossil dependent civilizations. Thats why we need to end our oil addiction now. Not later.

Wow, they drill another well and the world comes to an end. Interesting concept however they are going to drill new wells, they are going to put up more and varied types of wind driven energy sources as well as a few on the drawing board, but, the world will survive! B)
