The Importance of Fish Hatcheries

When the pioneers began their migration to the western United States, there was no limit on how many fish they could catch or how big the fish had to be. It didn’t take long for the abundant fish populations to start to decline. In 1870, fish spawning stations began to appear, where fish eggs were collected and hatched.
