About this blog

Travelling is a great experience. It does not matter whether you are travelling as a tourist, on business trip or you have sold everything you have to see the world, traveling can greatly broaden your outlook and change you. This is a kind of experience that cannot pass by. The more you travel, the more you discover the world.

Plenty of people think that travelling is an expensive and luxurious thing. Yes, if by “travelling” you mean staying in the most expensive hotels or resorts. But if you mean “discovering the world”, then it can be quite an affordable experience. Travelling can be cheap when you travel independently. All you need to do in order to make it an enjoyable experience is to plan your trip. The internet is full of information and advice on independent travel but you can spend our reading it. Here are some tips and guidelines that can help you plan your trip:

  • Decide where you want to go. This is the first step you need to make when planning your first independent trip. It is better to choose one country and one or two cities for the first time.
  • Flights and accommodation. Once you have made up your mind regarding where to go, you can start booking flights and accommodation. Do not book the first flight you have found- search for a cheaper flights operated by low-cost companies. If you are travelling form one European country to another, there is a possibility to find a cheap flight because Europe has the biggest number of low cost air carriers.

If you want to get to and from airport quickly and conveniently, you can book a taxi service. In fact, you can book a taxi from one and the same taxi service – some services operate internationally and have offices in most countries. For example, you can order a taxi at kiwitaxi.de. You will be picked up by the driver at the airport and taken to your hotel.

When looking for accommodation, consider renting an apartment rather than a room in a hotel. Most apartments have good conditions and are much cheaper. If you prefer budget variant, you can always find good hostels.

  • Create a road map. After you have booked plane tickets and hotels, decide what places you want to visit in the cities you are staying in. If you are not planning to take a guided tour, you are better to read basic information about monuments, churches and other places you want to visit before you actually leave home. Some background knowledge about particular monument or church will make your trip more interesting.

It is a good idea to by entrance tickets to some museums online. Generally, tourists spend a couple of hours standing in long lines just to get entrance ticket to Sagrada Familia of Eiffel Tower. Save your time and check whether you can buy tickets online.

  • Packing. Remember: travelling is more convenient when you travel light. Take only things you really need.
