About this blog

Using a computer has saved us hours, if not days, of the working time. PC allows us to crunch big numbers, create spreadsheets and presentation slides, format documents and do a multitude of other things with a few clicks of a mouse. However, many users have been discouraged from dealing with computers at their work when they got one or two error messages that prevented them from continuing their work. Frustrating as it might seem, this should never make you stop utilizing what is, perhaps, the most helpful tool for office work ever invented. For your work to be effective, you need to know how to deal with various errors, the most common of which is a missing or a corrupted .dll file.

What is a .dll file?

A .dll file is a library in itself, meaning that it contains bits of code and data that can be used by various programs on your PC. The libraries themselves are quite small in size, but without them the execution of certain processes is impossible. Imagine that you need to write a report, but all the books on the topic are missing from the library. Will you be able to make the report anyway? Unlikely. In the same way, lack of the data in .dll files can influence the way programs work.

What could possibly go wrong?

Due to the fact that .dll files can be used by multiple programs at once, one of these programs (or, a malware, for that matter), when modified or deleted, can cause deletion, corruption or modification of the .dll file it previously used. It means that next time one of the existing or newly installed programs needs the same library, they won’t be able to launch. Instead, they will trigger an error message, like this one “Program can’t start because msvcr110.dll is missing”. If you see something like this pop up on your screen, there’s no reason to panic. However, there is a good reason to take action to ensure the functioning of your software.

How do I deal with “msvcr110.dll missing” issue?

A part of Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package, msvcr110.dll is an indispensable component of many Visual C++-based applications. There are few ways to retrieve it.

  • The most obvious solution would be to re-install the Package from the official Microsoft website. However, it takes time and requires much traffic, so, if you have an unlimited data plan, of course, try reinstalling the package and updating the DirectX. If, for one reason or another, you do not like this solution, there are few more things you can try.

  • Another option you can go for is msvcr110.dll download. You can easily perform it from this website: http://fix4dll.com/msvcr110_dll. The web page contains all the necessary file specifications, the download link and, in case you are new with .dll files, a detailed tutorial on how to download files and where to copy them. The link to the tutorial can be found at the top of the page. The download itself will only take a few seconds, so in a few minutes your problem may be solved.

  • Last, but not the least, try running the antivirus. If you have an antivirus program (and if you don’t have it, you should certainly get one), you may also try running a virus scan to ascertain that the reason for your problems isn’t malware or a virus. Sometimes, just to make your life harder, such malicious programs can randomly delete system files. However, you may be lucky enough to find them in the Recycle bin, so don’t forget to check it if you have some .dll file issues.
